What a disaster (with a capital I)

Get out of here Irene!!!
I'm ok...thanks for all your notes.  I'm hoping you all are back to normal and not under water.  Saturday was good...she was wondering if the weatherman was wrong again...not a drop of rain or wind until about 7pm when all you know what broke lose.  We lost power at 11:30 followed by my favorite Squirrel house (the chestnut tree) falling to the ground.  I gave that wind a bark-ing to...boy did I bark.  Didn't do me any good though, that wind just kept blowing...then our fire alarm starting chirping...oh how I hate that.  All in all though, no one got hurt, the tree landed on my nana's property so we don't have to deal with an angry neighbor and we got our power back on just in time for work.

p.s. will some tell her please to never cook in the dark again...she almost killed him with her "hurricane chili" cause she couldn't see how much spicy stuff she was putting in...

I'm so glad to hear that you and your people are safe and sound Hoke. And that hurricane chili does sound like it may be a bit dangerous. We're quite sure it was made with love though :)

Boy that fallen tree sure looks like a close call. We are glad you survived Hurricane Irene, but sorry about the "hurricane chili..."

Oh My!! So sorry you lost your squirrel house. I've been doing my fair share of fallen squirrel house sniffing this week. Lots of nests to dig in - I mean, they're on the ground, so what's a dog to do?

Send over that hot chili. We love it!
