...does NOT keep that doctor away. So the other night I was snuggling in bed with her cause there was a big ole storm brewing...and all of sudden she jumped out of bed and came back with goop and tweezers. Yep you got it...she found a tick on my chest. Now my dad was sawing wood so she had to get that ugly thing off of me. She tugged and pulled and I tried to stay calm cause she was freaking out. She saved that tick to show him the next morning and she even tried match it to pictures online to figure out if it was a dog tick or deer tick. Every day, maybe a hundred times a day between Saturday and Monday they checked out that bite mark...poked at it, put goop on it, gave me kisses cause they felt bad. Then the unthinkable----she took me to the vet!!! From what I overheard, I wasn't suppose to go until this weekend but she thought it best to get me in there. So they weighed me...in front of everyone!!! AND if that wasn't bad enough, I got 2 shots in my butt (I still can't sit) and they took some of my blood. She doesn't know I know but she had to turn around when they did that cause she doesn't like needles or blood. So all in all, I'm fit as a fiddle...bite and all. The next time a tick thinks about biting me...I'm gonna bite him back!! Tell them to protect you from those buggers!!

WHOA there little Hoke! That was a nasty experience you had to be sure. Plus, the storms and all.
One time, when We were at the beach, and there were lots and lots of pine trees around, We came home from a walk and They found about 16 of those things clinging on to me for dear life. (Not deer life thank goodness.)
I had to go to a vet I'd never seen before and put stuff all over me.
I feel your pain.
Glad you're OK.

Hoke...so glad to hear you are okay, and that you didn't let that tick bother you one bit! I am so worried about my little Louis, when it comes to ticks, that I check him every day. It drives him CRAZY, as he only wants to be scratched and petted.
I've yet to have to remove one from his body, and am very impressed that she did it so effectively!
