Please Please Please!!!!!!

It's become an every night ritual...no matter who's in the room and available to play, Hoke will always grab that barbell and scratch at his Dad's leg.  The normal answer is "Hoke you're killin' me".  Hoke just keeps at him until he cracks...and tonights no different.  Baseballs on and all is quiet and then Scratch scratch scratch at his leg, arm, foot until he gets his attention and guilts him in to playing just for a little. Hoke doesn't want to play barbell with anyone but him.

Fight Like a Girl!!

Yesterday I did a Breast Cancer walk with my sorority sisters from college.  The walk was in Point Pleasant, NJ and there were an estimated 10,000 people there.  It was a beautiful day and amazingly very warm.  We walk every year to support our dear friend Dish.  Dish lost her mom to the awful disease and we walk to honor her fight each and every time.  It's a great day to get together with the girls and walk with fighters just like us!!  As a special treat, I found pink ribbon doggie treats at Cutters Mill.  I couldn't resist getting a few for my GodDog, Malachy.

Time to say Goodbye

Although our garden is nothing like Wyatt's...every year we have a little one in the backyard. Well today was the day to take it down.  During the summer, they rely on me to chase away anything that tries to get into that garden.  I chase the birds and those squirrels and even baby groundhogs.  Who needs a scarecrow when you have a Westie.  As the tomatoes grew, it made a nice tunnel for me to run through and sometimes I would just sit in there.  You couldn't see me, so I would trick my Mom into thinking that I finally figured a way out of the yard.  My job today was to guard the veggies that he found and to make sure that the piles of stuff didn't blow away, oh and to protect my Dad from any critters or maybe that groundhog I keep seeing in my Nana's yard.   I was outside with him until he was done and as payment for doing a great job, he took me for a ride in the truck to the dump.

Inspired by Oskar

Our friend Oskar posted his "bath crazies" a few days ago...and we said that we would post our crazies.  After he gets out of the bath, he's calm and just lays down while I try my best to dry him just a little...knowing that if I don't my carpets will be soaked.  BUT the minute I let him go...WHAMOOOO  he runs like a demon and rubs his whole body all over the rug.  One time I made the mistake of letting him outside to "dry in the sun"....didn't take long before he was covered in grass and dirt.  I'm sure he laughed the whole time!

10 Things I Wish I Could Have But Can't

1. Those chocolate cookies my Mom just had
2. A whole steak all to myself and not some little cut up pieces Dad gives me
3. Toys that wouldn't rip because I'm a maniac when I play with them
4. A decorative pillow to lay on whenever I need.  Laying on the floor or a plain pillow just isn't the same.
5. A big piece of bread (I'm allergic to wheat my mom says so they don't let me have any)
6. Cake, Cake, Cake!!!!!
7. Treats that I don't have to work for....I'm tired of giving my paw or listening just to get one.
8. A squirrel that will just stay in the yard and let me chase it around and around and around!
9. A doggie door
10. Longer legs so that I could get on that bed whenever I want and not have to be picked up.

Bling Bling

Check out my charms!!  I got the "Stud Pup" from my Aunt Kathleen.  She always brings me cool treats whenever she comes to visit...and she helps me send cards to my Mom and Dad.  My other charms are my Squirrel Patrol badge and Claddagh charm.  Mom and Dad love what the symbol stands for...Love, Loyalty, Friendship.  We got the Claddagh charm from The Dublin Dog. It's a little beat up but don't worry, Mom's got a spare for me:)

Boy am I tired!

With my Mom running all over the weekend, I got to spend alot of time with my Dad.  He likes to take me for walks and I like it too...all he has to say is "wanna go for a walk" and I do the happy dance and chase him if he doesn't get that leash on me fast enough. This weekend we walked a total of 5 miles...and I even got to cross over the Delaware into Pennsylvania cause my Dad knows where he's going!  We kicked up some deer that were resting and I got to have, what seemed to be, the whole forest to myself.  Heres me on the path.  No backpack this time...Dad carries everything for me so I can lead the way.   I'll be going to bed early tonight for sure.

10 Things I Hate

1. Not being allowed to sit in the rain
2. Having my toys taken away when I do something I think is fun and they think is bad
3. Not getting my favorite treats before my Dog Mom leaves for work
4. When I talk to them and they don't answer
5. When that pesky cat sits in front of the house and I can't get him
6. Having all 4 feets wiped down after I come in from the mud
7. GETTING A BATH
8. Having to share the Queen sized bed with my mom and dad
9. That chipmunk who lives under our shed
10. When my dog dad will not play tug-a-war with me

Now I must go and kick all the pillows off the couch so I can sprawl my 22 pound body across the entire area.

Let's Go Yankees

In honor of my Dog Dad...tonight I will get to stay up extra late and claim my seat on the couch right next to him as the playoffs start!!  Dog Mom will not be joining in the fun as she will probably fall asleep before the end of the first inning!!! Go Yanks!!!

Animal Planet

I am always so amazed when Hoke sits on the couch and watchs tv. Right now...he's sitting here watching owls and bears! If we had tv that gave off a scent he would probably go right through the screen!! Woof!

Wear Pink!!

We know so many who have been hurt by Breast Cancer, family and fighters the same!  October is Breast Cancer month...and while we love to wear pink all year, October is the time to get out the pink.  Who says pink is just for girls?!  My friends and I do cancer walks a few times a year. Sometimes we let the dogs join in the fun...but only if they show their true spirit.  Here are a few pictures.  Malachy will soon have a new yard at This Old Victorian House.  He's super sweet and loves his drinky's, walkies, and treaty's!!!  His Mom and Dad are awesome!!
